What is Google Local Guide?

I’m excited to share that I am now an official Level 3 Google Local Guide!

But what does that mean for me and my community?

According to Google, Local Guides is a global community of explorers who share their discoveries on Google Maps. By participating, you can help others find the best spots in town, connect with like-minded individuals, and unlock exclusive benefits along the way.

For more than a decade, I have been committed to showcasing the beauty of my hometown, San Pablo City. As a local blogger and advocate for eco-tourism, I’ve worked to promote our city's natural wonders and foster a sense of community. Over the years, I’ve also created groups that bring people together to celebrate our shared love for this place.

Becoming a Local Guide has been a natural extension of this advocacy. It’s given me a new, digital platform to "show and tell" the world about San Pablo City. Through Google Maps, I can share photos, reviews, and tips that help others discover the hidden gems of our community.

Of course, being a Local Guide comes with some exciting perks. For instance, participants are entered into drawings to win cool prizes like brand-new Nexus devices. Even more thrilling, Local Guides may receive invites to exclusive Google events and gain early access to Google’s latest products.
